The Raman Group uses laser spectroscopic techniques including resonance Raman spectroscopy and Femtosecond Stimulated Raman Spectroscopy (FSRS) to study chemical and biological reaction dynamics with a particular focus on the mechanism of photoactive proteins and condensed phase chemical reaction dynamics.

Recent projects include:

  1. FSRS study of Green Florescent Protein (GFP)
  2. Resonance Raman study of Phytochrome
  3. FSRS study of dye sensitized solar cells

Group Meetings are held every Wednesday at 5:00 PM in 425 Latimer.

Generally, each member of the group will present new data and new ideas related to their project each week. Occasionally, more in-depth presentations on one particular subject will be given. Give us a call (510-642-9202) to find out what's being discussed this week. See you there!
